Here are some updates concerning MCA2021 which will be virtual in July 2021.

The Prizes for 2021 are listed on the MCofA web site  www.mcofamericas.org

The Americas Prize:

  • IMPA Dynamical Systems Group (IMPA, Brazil)

The Solomon Lefschetz Medal: 

  • Carlos Kenig (Chicago, USA)
  • Jose Seade (UNAM, Mexico)

The MCA Prize:

  • John Pardon (Princeton, USA)
  • Jacob Tsimerman (Toronto, Canada)
  • Alex Wright (Michigan, USA)
  • Emmy Murphy (Northwestern, USA)
  • Daniel Remenik  (CMM, Chile)

We plan to hold a virtual Prize Ceremony before the MCA2021.

Most likely this will happen in May and we will send you details as soon as the arrangements are made. We expect a zoom event with the prize winners in attendance and short presentations of their achievements.

Lectures by the MCA Prize winners will be given at MCA2021in July. 

REGISTRATION for MCA2021 is now open and details are on the web at   www.mca2021.org

Details are also given about registration waivers for which participants from Latin America can apply.

Details are given for an AMS web site where US based participants can apply for a “virtual” travel grant.

Please urge your colleagues to look at this registration information and publicize it in your organization’s Newsletters etc.

The quadrennial meeting of the MCofA to which all of you will be invited will take place in July before the Congress. Marcelo Viana will send you details for this virtual meeting.
