The Panamanian Foundation for the Promotion of Mathematics (FUNDAPROMAT) and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) welcome you to join our Twelfth Math Webinar in English, which will take place on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at 5 pm Panama time, 5 pm EST. This Webinar is free and open to the general public, which means that kids and adults of all ages are welcome to attend.
In this Twelfth Math Webinar in English, our invited speaker, the recreational mathematician Adam Atkinson, will be presenting on “Maths and Science Stories.” Adam runs tables of games and puzzles at open days. He also often finds himself telling fairly short maths or science stories and will tell a selection of them in this webinar. Some may amuse you. Some may horrify you. At least one may do both. Some may change your life or the way you view the world. Perhaps it’s best if not all of them do this, as having your life changed nine times in one hour could be disorienting. It should be noted that there will be no simultaneous translation into Spanish provided during this virtual event.
